With reference to your letter of the 27th instant,

I am sorry to say that there is no Assistant in this

Laboratory possessing the Institute of Chemistry qualif-

ication in Branch (e) (Analysis of Food and Drugs).

I have therefore communicated with the Registrar

of the Institute of Chemistry and asked him to inform

any eligible men he may know of and ask them to communicate

with the Colonial Office direct.

If you receive any suitable applications I shall be

glad to give you any further assistance in the matter

you may desire.
